Summit offers a broad range of services to preschool-age children who present developmental delays. A team of professionals in concert with the child's parents develop a detailed education plan that specifies the objectives for learning to be provided in the most appropriate setting. Our professional staff then provide services as specified in the plan, working to achieve the specific objectives for learning. For example, one of our many speech pathologists may travel to a family’s home or preschool program and provide instruction to improve the child’s ability to use words to communicate and to be more easily understood by others. Collaboration between providers, parents, and preschool teachers is the key to promoting carryover of newly developed skills.
Summit's highly qualified staff are available to serve children in every area of early child development including:
Another service unique to Summit is our intensive Early Autism Program, providing a highly specialized home-based program for children with autism and related developmental disabilities (to link to a description of that program click here). Summit also provides a center-based preschool program for children called Summit Academy (to link to a description of that program click here).
